From the Framer's Table
I would like to welcome you to my blog for Cornerstone Custom Picture Framing and Gallery. As a framer and gallery owner I get to see such interesting artwork everyday, and would love this chance to share some of it with you. Also, I hope this will bring awareness to the art and craft of the framing process itself and give you ideas of how to frame your own special artwork and memorabilia.

The Secret Language of Birds: CD Framing
The best part about framing local musician Lori Paul’s newest CD is that she gave me an extra copy to listen to while I worked on it! The new CD entitled “The Secret Language of Birds” was a real treat to listen to and it looks fabulous in a frame! We chose a bold black linen mat with a bright orange bottom mat to set off the fun colours of the cover artwork, then added an elegant black and gold frame, and non-reflective glass. The mat also features a circular cut-outto outline the CD. After all those hours in the Spiderlodge recording studio, Lori and her partner Rick can count this CD a great musical achievement. Congratulations! To download some song samples from this CD or to find out what Spiderlodge is all about go to

Ironman Shadowbox
A customer of mine completed the Ironman Competition in Penticton, B.C. (2009). I say if you swim 3.8km, bike 180km and then run 42km and someone gives you a medal for it, it is worth custom framing!!! We chose a simple black metal frame, and used white, black and red matting for impact. It is not extravagant, but effective and my customer will be proud to hang it on his wall! Hey, he's earned those bragging rights!
